REGISTRATION TAKES PLACE AT 07H00 EACH MORNING AND WE BEGIN WALKING AT 07H30. ALL TRANSPORT, ACCOMMODATION ETC ARE FOR THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS.

UPDATE: 19 OCTOBER
THE WALK GOES AHEAD THIS WEEKEND – we have been in touch with relevant authorities.
PLEASE WEAR SHOES on day one!
Should the lagoon be open to the ocean at the OHLANGA we shall turn around and finish on the UMHLANGA NORTHERN VIEWING DECK. This will be decided on the day.
As in nature, things may change at the last minute and you will be notified – but WE WILL WALK.
This will be entirely at your own risk, but we have been advised that it is okay to walk on the beach, as long as we are not crossing the river or wading in the sea.

UPDATE: 14 OCTOBER

With 9 days to go until the start of the 2-day walk, we continue to monitor the situation. At this stage, if the Ohlanga River is open to the sea, we will walk to the river mouth then turn back and end our walk on the Northern viewing deck in Umhlanga on Day 1. We are in touch with the relevant authorities and will update you again once they give us further information.

NOTE: 30 SEPTEMBER

With 3 weeks to go until our weekend walk, we are in conversations with authorities and conservationists with regards to the chemical spill and the opening/closures of beaches.
We are hoping that the time we have allows us to go ahead. Should we not be able to walk, due to the restrictions, we shall set a new date and refund all entrants (less the admin fee).
At this stage, we believe we will be able to go ahead and we will update you. Thank you to everyone who has already booked – an amazing response once again. It’s now more than ever that our rivers, oceans and beaches need our help. Thank you for the generous sponsorship and support from Total Gateway and Total Surfside – it is wonderful to have Corporates on board.
We all make a difference.
